Sport-specific stretching and strengthening postures
can repair the damage incurred by the repetitive
strain that sports inflict on the muscles, joints,
ligaments and tendons; stretch and strengthen
the sport-specific muscles; and bring the entire
body to a state of balance.
In addition, breath control techniques
help athletes trigger a powerful relaxation response
at will. By cultivating a heightened awareness
of the body, they learn how to release habitually
held tension when such tension is not required.
